  1. Daniel’s Running Formula — Jack Daniels, PhD. My bible for conventional training up to marathon distance. Now I’d love a book that would extend scientific training methods to ultramarathon distances. Noakes’ book is my other bible.

  2. Highly recommend “Running: a global history” by Thor Gotaas. It’s a very well-written (or translated, at least) history of professional and competitive running.
